2011 YOUTH MINISTRY SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Dear Incoming Intern(s),
Get ready for a life changing summer. If you take part in this internship, things will be different upon its completion. Your comfort zones will be shattered, you will gain countless new perspectives on life, love, faith, and leadership. Perhaps most of all, you will have an investment in relationships with amazing youth, and amazing leaders. Not everything will come easy, whether it’s leading a group of youth to do something even you are not comfortable doing, or even just speaking in front of crowds. However, there was not one thing which I regretted doing the entire summer. In fact, the tasks which made me the most uncomfortable were the most rewarding in the end.
Like me, you are probably trying to answer God’s tug on your heart towards ministry. This internship provides the perfect environment to uncover what that truly means in your life. You will have the opportunity to experience beyond just youth ministry, shadowing other leaders of the church. The day to day life of working within the church becomes clear within the first couple weeks. You will experience leading mission trips, retreats, and youth groups. Watching and taking part in the youth catching on fire for God is a truly priceless gift. It is a gift which is now lying right in front of you. I recommend you take it, for there will rarely be another quite like it.
